Complete Rolling Thunder Receiver with Subwoofer Kit
The speakers in most HO scale locomotives will only reproduce sounds above approximately 600 hertz. The human ear can detect sounds between 20 to 20,000 hertz, and we can feel sounds at even lower frequencies. Many of the sounds real trains make are in the lower frequencies that models cannot reproduce. This is due to the tiny speakers which cannot move enough air. To overcome this shortcoming, Paragon3 incorporates a cutting edge radio transmitter system called Rolling Thunder™ that sends the low frequency sounds to a specially designed receiver and subwoofer under your layout. Since low frequency sounds have a longer wavelength, it is difficult for the human ear to detect the direction of the source. The result is that while the locomotive moves around the layout, you can hear the high frequency sounds coming from the locomotive, and the low frequency sounds from the subwoofer; all perfectly synchronized to the motion of the locomotive and the puffing of the smoke, and your ears will perceive the full array of sound as coming from the model! On a large layout, where a locomotive can be very far from the subwoofer, the Rolling Thunder™ system detects the distance and fades out the subwoofer until the locomotive gets close again, or, if another locomotive is in range, it will connect automatically to the subwoofer and begin playing its sounds at levels appropriate to its distance to the subwoofer. The system consists of the Paragon3 sound system in the locomotive, with its integral Rolling Thunder™ transmitter, a Rolling Thunder™ receiver box under the layout, and a powered subwoofer.

Legacy Layout Control System ASC2
The LCS ASC2 (Accessory Switch Controller) lets you connect traditional switches, uncoupling and activation tracks, accessories, and lighting to your LCS system. The ASC2 can be configured to "switch mode" or two types of "accessory mode" operation. When configured in switch mode, an ASC 2 operates up to four remotely-operated switches from Lionel and other manufacturers. The ASC2 has eight Normally Open relays, with four banks of two complementary outputs. One pair of relays will activate the "THRU" position with one set of contacts, and the other set of contacts will activate the "OUT" position. Each relay is rated at 20 amps. The starting TMCC "SW" address (0-96) is user configurable and the next three switches are assigned the three subsequent IDs.
Layout Control System "Starter cable". Each LCS installation requires exactly one 6-81499 LCS Power Supply with DB9 Cable. This cable provides power for the control electronics of each LCS component in your installation. At one end, there's a DB9 serial cable to connect to your Lionel Command Base. The second cable end has an LCS PDI connector at the end of a 10' cable. This connects to the first LCS device in your installation. Finally, the third connection goes to the LCS power supply. This external power is passed through the LCS PDI cable and you can power dozens of LCS devices from it.
The #990 Legacy Command Set features a #991 Legacy CAB-2 Remote Controller and a #992 Legacy Command Base/Charger, the two components you need to get started. Only one Legacy Command Base/Charger is required per layout. The Legacy Command Base/Charger receives information from the Remote Controller and sends it out to the track via a simple one-wire connection. But that's not all. The Legacy Command Base/Charger remembers information about your layout, enabling the CAB-2 Remote Controller to display road names and numbers on the LCD screen.
This is Lionel's most powerful post-war transformer and produces 275 watts. It can operate up to four trains independently.

Universal RC Control Board
Model Rectifier Corporation is releasing sound boards that will be able to be installed into any diesel locomotive and provide sounds, lighting, and throttle control without the consumer having to use DCC. Each product will include a transmitter that features throttle and direction control, and permits operation of all of the sound and lighting features of the module. The universal models MRC1026 and MRC1027 operate at different frequencies so two engines can be controlled independently on the same track.

16-Bit Light Steam with 23mm speaker
Model Rectifier Corporation is releasing two, 16-bit Sound Decoders specially designed to fit into the many tight configurations prevalent in HO-scale steam locomotives. The are the "Light" steam locomotive decoder for use with 0-4-0, 0-6-0, smaller branchline, and switcher types of steam locos, and the "Heavy" steam locomotive decoder for use with larger mainline types of steam locos, like Big Boys, Challengers, and F.E.F. Northerns. Equipped with adjustable back EMF, these new decoders provide fine tuning of the motor PID output frequency to ensure silent running and flexible torque output to give the locomotive better pulling power and finer speed control on grades. Engineered in New Jersey, MRC's DCC team delivered! Each of these, small size, (27 x 17 x 6mm) decoders is designed for mounting where space permits, and includes an 8-pin NMRA connector, a 9-pin JST connector, plus a plug-in round speaker with baffle, and is designed and tested to operate with any NMRA compatible DCC System and MRC's exclusive line of Tech 6 DC Powerpacks with DCC capabilities. MRC Tech 6 Sound Controller
This MRC train controller will provide 6 amps of power and will allow you to access all of the sounds and lighting features available in any locomotives that are equipped with DCC (NMRA spec) sound decoders. The unit comes with a base unit, power supply, and a handheld.
400 Watts. One 14-volt 3-amp fixed output; one 10-volt 3amp fixed output, and two 180-watt track outputs.
This AC transformer can be used to power small- to medium-sized O-scale layouts.
Ring Engineering End-of-Train device on coupler
Ring Engineering is announcing a new end-of-train device mounted on scale whisker coupler. Because the flasher circuit is under the truck, the installation does not affect freight car loads.
DSP-80 SurroundTraxx Layout Surround Sound System for Locomotives
The Soundtraxx SurroundTraxx surround sound system is available for full-scale sound for N-scalers. This allows the large off-board speakers to produce the full frequency range of sound, to travel around the layout with the locomotive!
TSU-750 for UP Gas Turbine
Soundtraxx has two decoders specifically for N-scale. With the popularity of N-scale growing, they have a few items that are suited for these small models. The TSU-750 Micro-Tsunami is a small decoder that will easily fit into many N-scale steam loco tenders, but they have many Micro Tsunami decoders for diesels as well. The TSU-750 for the UP Turbine can easily fit into the N-scale Turbines produced in brass, or the new models produced by Con-Cor. This will give prototypical turbine operation in a compact decoder that should be an easy installation into the model. These decoders are available today.
